3 Tips To Make Your Ice Cream Shop More Kid-Friendly

Business Blog

Of course, people of all ages love ice cream. However, going out for a frozen treat can be particularly exciting for kids. If you have an ice cream shop, you probably want to do what you can to make it kid-friendly. These are a few tips that can help you do so.

1. Choose Fun Serving Supplies

Even though adults might be happy to eat their ice cream with a regular spoon, adding fun serving supplies can be a great way to make the whole experience a lot more fun for kids. For example, you can purchase color-changing spoons that "magically" change colors when they come in contact with a frozen treat. Twisty straws for milkshakes and colorful cups and bowls can also add an element of fun and magic to your ice cream shop.

2. Offer Tons of Flavors and Toppings

Adults are sure to love being able to choose from lots of different flavors and toppings, but this can be even more exciting for kids. Kids love to be able to have choices, and if there are tons of tasty and colorful ice cream flavors available, they're sure to get excited about visiting your shop. Many kids also like being able to choose all different toppings, such as different types of candy pieces or colorful sprinkles.

3. Give Them Something to Do

The last thing that you probably want is for the kids in your community to be bored when they're at your ice cream shop. Therefore, you may want to take steps to make sure that there is plenty for them to do. Hanging up a television on the wall and playing cartoons or family-friendly movies can be a good step to take. Additionally, try adding paper tablecloths or place mats and crayons that the kids can color on, or print out ice cream-themed coloring pages that they can color while they're there. You can even opt to hang the artwork up on the walls of your shop for family friendly-decor and to give your pint-sized customers a sense of pride.

If you want your ice cream shop to be a true success and a great addition to your community, it's a good idea to take steps to make it more kid-friendly. Luckily, implementing these three things can be a great way of doing so. If you do a bit of brainstorming, you're sure to come up with even more ideas that the kids in your community will love.
